Carioca Drill
1 - Stand tall with your feet hip-width apart and your body positioned sideways to the direction you will travel.
2 - Begin moving laterally by stepping your trailing foot across in front of your lead foot while rotating your hips.
3 - Step the lead foot out to the side to return to a wide stance.
4 - Cross the trailing foot behind the lead foot, continuing to rotate through the hips while keeping your chest mostly facing forward.
5 - Continue alternating front-cross and back-cross steps in a smooth, rhythmic pattern.
6 - Keep your arms relaxed and moving naturally for balance, and stay light on the balls of your feet.
7 - Complete the desired distance or duration, then repeat in the opposite direction.
