Reactive Shuffle Drill
- 1 - Set up in an athletic stance with your feet about shoulder-width apart, knees slightly bent, hips back, chest up, and arms ready.
- 2 - Choose a reaction cue such as a coach’s hand signal, verbal command, light, or partner point to indicate the shuffle direction.
- 3 - On the cue, push off the opposite foot and shuffle laterally in the indicated direction while keeping your feet from crossing.
- 4 - Stay low and controlled, maintaining balance with your hips level and your eyes forward.
- 5 - React quickly to each new cue by changing direction with short, fast steps and strong pushes off the outside leg.
- 6 - Continue for the prescribed time, distance, or number of cues while maintaining proper footwork and body control.
- 7 - Rest as needed between rounds to preserve speed, reaction quality, and technique.
