Closeout Drill
- 1 - Start in an athletic stance facing the coach, partner, or target area, with knees bent, hips back, chest up, and hands active.
- 2 - On the signal, sprint toward the target for the first few steps to quickly cover ground.
- 3 - As you approach the target, shorten your stride and drop your hips to decelerate under control.
- 4 - Finish the closeout with choppy steps, one hand raised to contest and the other hand ready to react.
- 5 - Keep your weight balanced on the balls of your feet and avoid standing upright or crossing your feet.
- 6 - Hold defensive position briefly, then shuffle or retreat back to the starting point as directed.
- 7 - Repeat for the desired number of repetitions or for the assigned time interval.
