Lateral Step-Down
- 1 - Stand sideways on a box or step with one foot near the edge, so the other foot hangs off the side.
- 2 - Keep your standing leg slightly bent and your hips level, with your chest tall and core braced.
- 3 - Slowly lower your hanging leg toward the floor by bending the knee of your standing leg, controlling the descent.
- 4 - Lower until your heel gently taps the floor without shifting your weight onto it, keeping your knee tracking over your toes.
- 5 - Drive through your heel and engage your glutes to push yourself back up to the starting position.
- 6 - Maintain control throughout the movement and avoid letting your knee cave inward or your torso lean excessively.
- 7 - Complete the desired number of repetitions, then switch to the other leg.
