Abdominal Crunches
1 - Lie flat on your back on an exercise mat with your knees bent and feet flat on the floor, hip-width apart.
2 - Place your hands lightly behind your head with your elbows pointing outward, or cross your arms over your chest.
3 - Engage your core by drawing your navel toward your spine.
4 - Exhale and slowly curl your upper body upward, lifting your shoulder blades off the mat while keeping your lower back pressed into the floor.
5 - Hold the contracted position at the top for a brief moment, squeezing your abdominals.
6 - Inhale and slowly lower your upper body back down to the starting position in a controlled manner.
7 - Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, maintaining controlled breathing throughout.
