Leaning Lateral Raise
- 1 - Stand next to a stable support such as a rack or machine and hold it with one hand for balance.
- 2 - Hold a dumbbell in the opposite hand with your arm hanging straight down and your palm facing your body.
- 3 - Lean your body away from the support while keeping your feet planted and your torso braced.
- 4 - With a slight bend in your elbow, raise the dumbbell out to the side until your arm reaches about shoulder height.
- 5 - Pause briefly at the top while keeping your shoulder down and avoiding shrugging.
- 6 - Lower the dumbbell slowly back to the starting position under control.
- 7 - Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then switch sides.
