Lying Hamstring Stretch
- 1 - Lie flat on your back on a mat with both legs extended and your arms resting at your sides.
- 2 - Bend one knee and place that foot flat on the floor for stability.
- 3 - Slowly raise the opposite leg straight up toward the ceiling, keeping the knee as straight as possible.
- 4 - Gently grasp the back of your raised thigh or calf with both hands to assist the stretch, or use a resistance band looped around your foot.
- 5 - Pull the leg toward you until you feel a comfortable stretch along the back of your thigh and hamstring.
- 6 - Hold the stretch for 20–30 seconds while breathing deeply and relaxing into the position.
- 7 - Slowly lower the leg back to the starting position and repeat on the other side.
