Patellar Mobilization
- Sit or lie down with the target leg extended and fully relaxed; place a small towel under the knee if slight bending helps the thigh relax.
- Locate the patella (kneecap) and place your fingertips gently along its edges without pressing directly downward into the joint.
- Slowly glide the patella side to side using small, controlled movements within a comfortable, pain-free range.
- Next, gently glide the patella upward and downward in the same controlled manner, keeping the quadriceps relaxed.
- Hold each glide briefly for 1–2 seconds, then release back to the center position.
- Continue for the prescribed duration, avoiding sharp pain, swelling, or forceful pressure.
- Stop immediately if symptoms worsen and consult a healthcare professional if you are recovering from injury or surgery.
