Barbell Incline Bench Press Wide Grip
- 1 - Set an adjustable bench to an incline of 30 to 45 degrees and position yourself with your back firmly against the pad and feet flat on the floor.
- 2 - Grip the barbell with a grip wider than shoulder-width apart, palms facing forward, ensuring a secure and even hold.
- 3 - Unrack the bar by extending your arms, then carefully bring it down to your upper chest in a slow and controlled manner.
- 4 - Keep your elbows flared out wider than in a standard press to emphasize the wide grip position and target the outer chest fibers.
- 5 - Pause briefly at the bottom when the bar is just above your upper chest without bouncing it off your body.
- 6 - Press the bar back up explosively along the same arc until your arms are fully extended, without locking out the elbows aggressively.
- 7 - Repeat for the desired number of repetitions, then carefully re-rack the bar once complete.
