Clamshells
- 1 - Lie on your side on a mat with your hips stacked, knees bent at approximately 45 degrees, and your head resting on your lower arm.
- 2 - Keep your feet together and your core engaged to stabilize your spine throughout the movement.
- 3 - Slowly rotate your top knee upward, opening your legs like a clamshell, while keeping your feet touching and your pelvis stable.
- 4 - Raise your top knee as high as possible without allowing your hips to roll backward or your pelvis to tilt.
- 5 - Pause briefly at the top of the movement, squeezing your glutes and hip abductors.
- 6 - Slowly lower your knee back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
- 7 - Complete all reps on one side before switching to the other side.
