Smith Machine Seated Calf Raise
1 - Place a flat bench inside the Smith machine and position a calf block, step, or weight plate under the balls of your feet.
2 - Sit on the bench with your knees bent about 90 degrees and position the Smith machine bar across your lower thighs, just above your knees, using a pad if needed for comfort.
3 - Grip the bar or machine frame for stability, unrack the bar, and keep your torso upright with your feet hip-width apart.
4 - Lower your heels slowly toward the floor until you feel a stretch through your calves.
5 - Press through the balls of your feet and raise your heels as high as possible, fully contracting your calves at the top.
6 - Pause briefly at the top, then lower under control and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
7 - When finished, carefully re-rack the Smith machine bar before stepping away.
