Smith Machine Calf Raise
- 1 - Set the Smith machine bar at about shoulder height and place a calf block, step, or weight plate under the bar if available.
- 2 - Stand with the balls of your feet on the edge of the block and position the bar across your upper traps, not your neck.
- 3 - Grip the bar with both hands, unlock it, and stand tall with your knees slightly bent and your core braced.
- 4 - Lower your heels slowly toward the floor until you feel a stretch through your calves.
- 5 - Press through the balls of your feet and raise your heels as high as possible, squeezing your calves at the top.
- 6 - Pause briefly at the top, then lower under control back to the stretched position.
- 7 - Repeat for the desired number of repetitions while keeping your torso upright and avoiding bouncing.
