Smith Machine Donkey Calf Raise
1 - Set the Smith machine bar to about hip height and place a calf raise block or stable platform under the bar.
2 - Position the balls of your feet on the edge of the platform with your heels hanging off, then hinge forward at the hips so the padded Smith bar rests securely across your lower back or hips.
3 - Hold the machine frame or a stable support for balance, keeping your core braced, back flat, and knees slightly bent.
4 - Lower your heels slowly toward the floor until you feel a stretch in your calves.
5 - Press through the balls of your feet and raise your heels as high as possible, squeezing your calves at the top.
6 - Lower under control and repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
