Single-Leg Calf Press
- 1 - Sit on a leg press machine and place one foot flat on the lower portion of the platform, with your heel hanging off the edge slightly.
- 2 - Keep your other leg bent and raised off the platform or resting lightly to the side for balance.
- 3 - Extend your working leg fully and unlock the safety handles, keeping a slight bend in the knee to avoid locking out the joint.
- 4 - Push through the ball of your foot, pressing up onto your toes as high as possible in a slow, controlled motion.
- 5 - Hold the peak contraction for one second, squeezing the calf muscle fully.
- 6 - Slowly lower your heel back down below the platform level to achieve a full stretch in the calf.
- 7 - Repeat for the desired number of repetitions before switching to the other leg.
