Cable Shrug
- 1 - Stand in front of a cable machine and attach a straight bar or rope handle to the low pulley.
- 2 - Grasp the handle with an overhand grip, hands shoulder-width apart, and stand upright with your feet shoulder-width apart.
- 3 - Keep your arms fully extended and let the cable create a slight stretch in your traps at the bottom position.
- 4 - Elevate your shoulders straight up toward your ears as high as possible, contracting your trapezius muscles at the top.
- 5 - Hold the peak contraction for 1-2 seconds, then slowly lower your shoulders back to the starting position in a controlled manner.
- 6 - Avoid rolling your shoulders or using momentum; keep the movement strictly vertical.
- 7 - Repeat for the desired number of repetitions.
