- 1 - Stand tall with your feet about hip-width apart, holding a barbell, dumbbells, or cable handle in front of your thighs with an overhand grip.
- 2 - Brace your core, keep your chest lifted, and allow your arms to hang straight with the weight close to your body.
- 3 - Pull the weight upward toward your upper chest by leading with your elbows, keeping the weight close to your torso.
- 4 - Raise your elbows only to about shoulder height or slightly below to maintain shoulder comfort and control.
- 5 - Pause briefly at the top while keeping your wrists neutral and shoulders down away from your ears.
- 6 - Lower the weight back to the starting position in a slow, controlled motion.
- 7 - Repeat for the desired number of repetitions without swinging or using momentum.
