Trainerize Pro costs $25 a month at 5 clients, $50 at 15, $79 at 30, and $135 at 50. If you have 20 clients you are already on the $79 tier, because the $50 plan stops at 15. Nutrition, payments, video coaching and a branded app are extra on the lower plans. Clients do not pay Trainerize a seat fee. You do.

There is a small free plan. It is useful for poking around the product, not for running a book of twenty.
The thing coaches complain about on r/personaltraining is not the $25 starting price. It is the way the invoice tracks headcount. One coach wrote that they were paying $43 for 15 clients and later $77 a month for up to 30, same benefits. That is this ladder, not a glitch.
What the headline plan does not include
Two coaches on "Trainerize Pro" can have very different invoices.
On the lower tiers, these usually sit outside the advertised number:
- Payments (modeled as $9 a month on the Adiletix calculator, not a percentage cut)
- Nutrition
- Video coaching
- A branded client app
I am not going to invent a nutrition or branded-app sticker price here. Those change, and they are not on the Pro table above. If you actually use them, add them on top before you compare anything.
A working plan at 20 clients is therefore at least $79, or $88 if you turn payments on. At 50 clients it is $135, or $144 with payments. Meal plans and a branded app would sit on top of that.
Do clients pay for Trainerize?
No. Trainerize bills the coach. Clients download the app and train. If a client "pays for Trainerize," that is you passing your software cost through in the coaching fee, not a second Trainerize invoice.
"Is Trainerize free for clients?" Yes, in the sense that they are not buying a seat. "Is Trainerize free?" for you: only on the small free coach plan.
What the same roster costs elsewhere

Read that table twice.
Under about ten clients, Trainerize is cheap. Everfit at $19 and TrainHeroic at $17.99 undercut it. Adiletix does not.
At 20 clients the Trainerize bill has already jumped to $79 because you left the 15-client cap. Everfit is still $49. TrueCoach is $69.98, and client 21 on TrueCoach is $164.98. That cliff is why people look at TrueCoach alternatives.
At 50 clients Trainerize is $135 a month before add-ons. That is the number that sends people to Trainerize alternatives.

Trainerize vs Everfit, in one pricing paragraph
Everfit is cheaper at every published cap in that table. It is also a different product. Meal plans, Autoflow and payments are extra there too ($9 a month for the payments module, plus 3.15% + $0.30 on US cards). If the question is "which invoice is smaller at 20 clients," Everfit. When the ladder is fine, and when it is not
Stay if most of this is true:
- You are under 15 clients and $50 a month is noise against one package.
- Apple Health, Garmin, Fitbit or MyFitnessPal is how you actually coach. That row is still a gap on several newer platforms, including Adiletix.
- You are not trying to sell programs to people who are not already on the roster.
Look around if most of this is true:
- You just crossed 15 or 30 clients and the renewal is a round number you did not budget.
- The useful features arrived as add-ons.
- You want a storefront, not only a coaching inbox.
