- Fill a float tank or pod with water heated to skin temperature (approximately 34.1°C / 93.5°F) and dissolved with a high concentration of Epsom salt (magnesium sulfate) to create buoyancy.
- Shower thoroughly before entering the float tank to remove oils, lotions, and impurities from your skin.
- Carefully enter the float tank and lie back, allowing the high-density salt water to fully support your body in a face-up, supine position.
- Close the tank lid or turn off the lights to achieve full sensory deprivation, minimizing external light, sound, and tactile stimulation.
- Allow your body to relax completely, letting go of muscular tension and focusing on slow, deep, diaphragmatic breathing throughout the session.
- Remain in the float tank for the desired duration, typically 60 to 90 minutes, allowing the nervous system to downregulate and the muscles and joints to fully decompress.
- Gently exit the tank at the end of the session, shower again to rinse off the salt water, and allow time to reorient before resuming regular activities.
